About Kirsty
Chartered Physiotherapist Kirsty Harris owns and operates Kirsty Harris Physiotherapy. Kirsty Harris Physiotherapy Clinic is located in Great Shefford, West Berkshire. Within the clinic we assess & treat both self-funded and insurance physiotherapy patients and we also teach physiotherapist-led classes in the local vicinity. Kirsty is a very experienced Physiotherapist having worked in various different settings since qualifying from the University of Huddersfield with a BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy Degree in 2005. She began her career working within NHS hospitals in South Wales where she rotated between working on wards and within out-patient departments. With a strong bias towards Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, she specialised and progressed in this area through senior NHS Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy posts. She moved back over the border to join Royal Berkshire NHS Trust as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner in 2011. In this post, she worked closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons to assess, treat and rehabilitate patients. On leaving the NHS in 2014 she continued to specialise in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy working as a Senior Physiotherapist for the Ministry of Defence within residential rehabilitation, outpatient departments and multidisciplinary assessment clinics. In addition to her NHS, Private Practice and MOD roles, she has also maintained a strong interest in acute sports injuries. She was Lead Physiotherapist for her local amateur and regional academy rugby union club, providing pitch-side cover and injury management to both teams. These roles developed both her interest and expertise in managing sports injuries. Kirsty is qualified to use Mobilisation & Manipulation, Acupuncture, Injection Therapy, Pilates, Shockwave Therapy and Taping alongside her more general Physiotherapy skills. She trained to teach Pilates with The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI); A World-leading provider of Physiotherapy and Pilates Education. She particularly enjoys teaching groups & classes and helping her patients to achieve their goals.
