Karen Irons is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 25 years of clinical experience. She has completed Post-Graduate courses in Continence Care and a Master’s Degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy.
Within the NHS, Karen has worked as a team lead in both Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth; and Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecology Physiotherapy at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester. Karen is now pleased to be able to combine both specialities at her new post within the Physiotherapy out-patient department at Haslemere Community Hospital.
Karen’s Private Practice activities has seen her working within the business & military sectors completing ergonomic workplace & vehicle assessments, alongside spinal, knee and upper limb educational workshops.
Karen also has a keen interest in rheumatology and was a founder member of AStretch (www.astretch.co.uk) – a non-profit organisation with the focus on gathering & disseminating information in the treatment and management of Axial Spondyloarthritis (working closely with the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Association). Along with the rest of the team at Chichester Physio Ltd, Karen is passionate about providing good value, effective physiotherapy, using hands on treatment, education and advice to empower her patients to achieve their goals in the shortest possible time frame. Her ethos is of holistic patient care and enabling self-management.
Away from work, Karen is devoted to her family. Karen provides a ‘taxi’ service to her very busy children (Amelia & Oliver) and enjoys family walks with their 2 dogs (Bonnie & Pippin). To keep fit physically and mentally, Karen enjoys walking, swimming and cycling, and particularly enjoys UK holidays in the family caravan.
