Ms Dora Hotzi – BSc.(Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, M.Ost
Dora Hotzi Physiotherapist & Sports Rehab at the Hatfield Practice
Dora first qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2005. She then went on to complete a Masters degree in Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy in London.
Dora has a particular interest in functional biomechanics, and in 2011 she completed the prestigious Gray Institute for Functional Transformation (GIFT) program gaining the Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) title. She is also one of the handful of practitioners in the UK who is certified in Functional Manual Reaction; using hands-on techniques to assist the body's natural movement patterns.
Using conventional physiotherapy and osteopathic techniques and functional exercises tailored to the client's individual needs to maintain the treatment's effects, Dora can treat a wide variety of conditions. Although she has a particular interest in sports rehabilitation and injury prevention, she enjoys working with a wide variety of patients.
"Having clients with completely different problems and goals is fantastic. I enjoy rehabilitation sessions with elderly patients following a hip replacement. I also enjoy putting together exercise routines for young patients with back pain or scoliosis, then onto a whiplash injury case followed by a performance enhancement session with a golfer. It keeps me creative when it comes to treatment. I like to make the treatment sessions individual to each client, and seeing them achieve their personal goals is priceless."
Dora also encourages an active role from her patients. "Finding out the exact aims for each client is essential when it comes to keeping them motivated. As I always say to my patients, I only have them for a short period, so they need to put in a little effort the rest of the week. Working together as a team is always the best and quickest way to achieve our goals."
