Claire Mackelvie

Claire MacKelvie is a musculoskeletal pain specialist, experienced in the assessment and treatment of a wide spectrum of pain disorders. She is Back Pain Advanced Practice Clinical Specialist in the NHS and a published researcher and public speaker.

Claire is keen to promote and apply the latest scientific evidence in the management of back pain and enjoys debunking the many myths that have grown up around back pain treatment.

Apart from treating patients, Claire gives training sessions for physiotherapists and GPs about modern back pain management and promotes effective back care in the media.

Claire likes to take a look at the whole person when she assesses someone and focusses on assisting them get over their pain or injury and get back to normal life. She has extensive experience in treating racquet sports players at her local club.

Claire is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
