We also cater for recreational athletes with the same focus and commitment.
If you need pitch-side cover for your sporting event, we can provide highly qualified people to oversee your games.
Our physiotherapists are experts at evaluating and treating conditions such as back pain, neck pain, joint sprains, muscle strains and many other pain conditions. We follow evidence-based guidelines for our treatments to ensure you get the most effective results.
You don’t have to put up with long NHS waiting lists as we can often see you the same day or the next. Patients can self-refer but we also accept referrals from GPs for private care.
Tendon injuries, such as Achilles tendon pain, can be troublesome, long-lasting and interfere with sports and normal life. At the Cardiff Tendon Pain Clinic we specialise in assessing and managing tendinopathy, with wide experience of treating athletes of all levels.
If you have pain in the pelvic area, incontinence, constipation or a prolapse, our expert Women’s Health physiotherapist can help you improve or eliminate your symptoms.
Research shows that supervised therapy with a skilled physiotherapist can improve symptoms dramatically. We work with mothers both before and after birth, helping to return to activities and sports successfully and prevent or treat problem such as rectus diastasis or tummy gap.
Other problems we can address are pelvic pain in athletes or others, urinary incontinence, rectal incontinence and sexual problems. We are also happy to see pregnant mothers with pain or other problems.
We are skilled in administering this ancient pain-relieving technique for a large number of disorders.
RSWT or Radial Shockwave Therapy is a technique mainly for treating tendon problems such as Achilles tendinopathy.
It is a non-invasive treatment (a bit like ultrasound but using different energy) used if normal physiotherapy management has not been successful in relieving the condition. This is combined with a physiotherapy re-loading programme for best results. Six treatments seven to ten days apart is a typical programme.
Pilates aims to promote balance, flexibility, good posture and stability. We have a ratio of three patients in our APPI beginners’ class to one Chartered Physiotherapist so you can get the benefit of individual attention and progress quickly and correctly.
Pilates can be particularly useful after an injury or layoff, with a comprehensive assessment from a physio to start with so we know your difficulties and can design the best programme. We also run more advanced classes.
We help businesses to reduce sickness absence and promote wellness amongst their staff. We can provide our services both on your premises and/or at one of our three clinics.
We can help you save money with our occupational health physiotherapy scheme, which have been shown in research to return £12 for every £1 spent.
We have close links with local doctors, consultants, sports physicians and General Practitioners and take many referrals for post-operative rehabilitation to ensure optimal results.
All our physiotherapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP). We work with all the major health insurance providers.
